Biography of Maggie Lamonica

Maggie LaMonica was born and raised in Lexington, Kentucky.   She grew up on a horse farm which afforded her the opportunity to ride often and develop a love of animals and horses in particular.   She became an avid equestrian and a regular on the horse show and eventing circuit.  At the age of 15, Maggie was a finalist in a prestigious modeling competition.   Having loved New York since her early childhood from regular trips to see her grandparents, she yearned to get to the Big Apple to model.   She continued spending summers in Manhattan modeling throughout her high school years.

Upon graduation from high school, Maggie went to the University of Kentucky and obtained a B.A. in Journalism with a minor in Psychology.   Yet she was drawn back to continue her modeling career full time.  At this point, she decided to take the opportunity to live in Paris and experience all that Europe has to offer professionally and culturally.   After many successful years in Paris, London, and Milan working both runway and print, Maggie decided it was time to return to New York to pursue her true dream of being an actor.

She has studied with such noted acting teachers as Ron Millikie and the amazing Sheila Gray.   She has appeared been on several Soap Operas including “As the World Turns” and “The Guiding Light”, as well as appearing in several independent feature films including, “The Money Game” which was featured at Cannes in 1996.  Maggie has been the lead in several Off Broadway productions, including a remake Sam Shepard’s “Simpatico” at the Access Theater.   While Maggie still models and does numerous commercials and industrials, she has discovered a deep natural talent for hosting.  She was the host for two seasons of “Footnote”, an in depth, one hour show interviewing prominent authors of non-fiction books.  Additionally, she has hosted corporate events and training seminars regularly.

She is thrilled to be represented by manager Josselyne Herman, agent Barbara Andreadis, and commercial agent Scott Kaufman.   She currently resides in Manhattan with her husband and enjoys cooking and traveling.
